Why Sailor?

The two questions…

I’m asked most frequently are “why the name?” and “what makes you different?”

I set up Hallo Sailor! after establishing a career running companies, building companies, selling companies, and merging acquired companies. It happened multiple times in multiple industries and the experience routinely transferred me from operating in a SME environment to FTSE 100 ones. It was a learning experience like no other, at times superbly rewarding and at others very nearly soul-destroying. There were great successes, huge failures and a decent number somewhere between the two.

Accumulating this varied learning experience first-hand became, along with some of the fantastic people I was fortunate enough to work with on the way, something to nurture. Far from an accomplished blueprint, it is a work in progress that continues to be shaped, informed and improved by the experiences and people I continue to encounter along the way.

Hallo Sailor!’s approach is credible, authentic and trusted. It’s also one of respectful dissent. Good business consultancy need not be cost-prohibitive, diarised or productised; it can be economical, responsive and bespoke. It can be delivered for reasons other than a desire to simply grow a business, it can focus on purpose as much as profit and challenge as much as it supports. It’s a philosophy that makes Hallo Sailor! different.

As for the name, that’s information usually disclosed in our first meeting. If you really want to know then please do get in touch.

Speak soon,

Caro

Caro took the time to get to know us and the business thoroughly. Lots of face to face time in our office with the team, poring over the detail. And once she was sure of the position, she helped us to take control and fix things. Our confidence grew and we turned a corner. The business has a new lease of life, financial performance has hugely improved, the team is motivated and two new key appointments have been successfully made. Six months on it’s like walking into a different business.

Ahoy there!
