Hallo Sailor!

is Caroline Walmsley. Caro’s first encounter of selling a business was a publishing house that she helped to build and run for eight years. She helped find an acquiring party, Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (they had some money to invest thanks to the popularity of a chap called Harry Potter….) and oversaw the transition and integration of her business into theirs. She then successfully repeated that run-to-acquisition experience for a much larger technology business and to another FTSE 100 acquiring party.

The experience of running and selling two very different businesses in completely different industries has afforded Caro a wealth of very varied first-hand experience (both good and bad!).  

 Caro holds over 20 years of sales, marketing, operational, financial and talent management experience. Direct experience of running and selling SMEs; direct experience of turning loss into significant profit; of implementing systems and processes to promote best practice; of identifying talent, nurturing and building teams and unlocking potential in the process; of working in FTSE 100 companies, micro business and a variety of organisations in between. She’s also made her fair share of mistakes and learned from them, and it’s the blend of good experience and honesty and acknowledgement about the less than perfect experiences that makes Sailor credible, authentic and trusted. Caro has an idea of what it’s like to walk in your shoes.

Caro was lucky enough to achieve a great deal professionally in a (relatively) short period of time. She is certain that this was because she was championed and empowered by those who saw she could be better.
